WARNING: this is an early preview and was published as proof of concept. It's not compatible with the reference implementation, which was published later and changed the protocol. Once the protocol and the whole spec is final, this client will be compatible. Until then only use this client as demo or showcase and spread the idea of SQRL.
SQRL is a new login method. It stands for secure, quick, reliable login and solves many issues we are facing in the current web. Username/password combinations aren't needed anymore.
Your identity is stored on your device and never leaves it. Each website receives its own random secret, which you don't need to remember. In order to protect your key, you need to choose a password for encryption. That's the only password you'll ever need.
To login it's only necessary to scan a QR-Code from the website. That's it, after that you are logged in.
About SQRL
SQRL is a free app for Android published in the System Maintenance list of apps, part of System Utilities.

To install SQRL on your Android device, just click the green Continue To App button above to start the installation process. The app is listed on our website since 2017-02-26 and was downloaded 12 times. Your antivirus may detect the SQRL as malware as malware if the download link to net.vrallev.android.sqrl is broken.
How to install SQRL on your Android device:
- Click on the Continue To App button on our website. This will redirect you to Google Play.
- Once the SQRL is shown in the Google Play listing of your Android device, you can start its download and installation. Tap on the Install button located below the search bar and to the right of the app icon.
- A pop-up window with the permissions required by SQRL will be shown. Click on Accept to continue the process.
- SQRL will be downloaded onto your device, displaying a progress. Once the download completes, the installation will start and you'll get a notification after the installation is finished.
